After a little more than three weeks of initial launch of Apple’s prime operating system, “OS X Mountain Lion”, the company has rolled out another update which is for developers only. Mac OS X Mountain Lion sales rose up to three million in first 24 hours after the launch of new OS X. Now the new system comes with so many capabilities including more than 200 great features which make the user experience beyond imaginations. Still there are many Mac owners who have not upgraded due to any reasons but will be doing it sooner. Now what makes the Mac OS X Mountain Lion better than the precious last year’s simple Lion version is that much more integrated features. As you know that a bundle of new features are bound to come with any new operating system, so this was something which people were expecting from Apple. But the thing which made it more popular is the introductory price of only $19.99, and this is something which is never expected from Apple but they have done it.
Now why the new developers update has been launched so early must be the next question coming in your minds. We know that Apple is very serious and touchy about their quality or standards. Earlier reports from the users indicated that Apple’s new operating system OS X Mountain Lion is great but later on some complaints related to harmful effect on internal battery started popping up. Apple immediately took notice of the issue as they always want to provide ultimate hardware experience to users. A new update of existing 10.8.1 was launched by Apple for the registered developers of Mac OS X. Apple keeps updating the versions of Mac OS X so that users get the best experience and there are no bugs in the hardware at all. Keep waiting as the final release of 10.8.1 for all users is also going to come soon.
Latest beta update from Apple for the new operating system is given 12B13 version and is available for download at Mac Developers website. The pre-release version of Mac OS X 10.8.1 Mountain Lion does not contain Facebook support and has has no known issues according to the release notes but as usual Apple wants the developers to focus only on the areas of attention. Areas which have been declared important for developers to focus are Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Mail app, Safari, Samba (SMB) sharing, USB, Wi-Fi and the audio performance when connected with Thunderbolt.
One point to remember before downloading and installing this new version for trials is that if there are some issues, you cannot revert back to the previous one. In case you want to go back to the previous version, a new installation would be required so better is to back up your important files before taking the risk.
